pete was juggling tomatoes.

bored. so he telephoned a few friends. “how about getting together to make an anti-racism national unity song and music video?” all said yes without hesitation. not because pete threatened them with a sharp and rusty knife. but only because they love Malaysia.

the contingent swelled to 52 people a few days later. it included filmmakers, dancers, singers, producers, musicians, actors, entrepreneurs, designers, footballers, activists, celebrities, students and a florist. nobody would be paid. yet they were enthused. not because they were high on speed. only because they love Malaysia.

they gathered to record the song. it had a catchy chorus and was able to induce a mass sing-along. everyone was happy when it was done. they named it ‘here in my home’. then more people joined. the party now included more than 120 people. but the budget remained exactly zero. it seems even the spreadsheet loves malaysia.

everyone turned up for the video shoot. much fun was had and friendships made. video editors went to work after the shoot was done. both the recording and the video would be given away for free. a gift to the nation. from those who love malaysia to those who feel the same.

"It's just entertainment. It doesn't affect me." That common viewpoint (especially among young people) is naive at best. While it almost goes without saying that few people will allow something they see or hear in media to turn them into killers or rapists, for better or worse, it's clear that media does have the power to influence our thoughts, actions and behaviors.

Consider a few example:

In December 2003, the legal defense team of Lee Boyd Malvo (the 18-year-old convicted as one of the Washington-area snipers) argued that violent media was used to desensitize the teen to killing. Lawyers showed the jury clips from movies and video games that were allegedly used to "brainwash" Malvo. They included a scene from The Matrix wherein characters Neo and Trinity gun down policemen. Dewey Cornell, a clinical psychologist, testified, "Exposure to entertainment violence desensitizes people to violence, makes it seem more acceptable. These people have more violent thoughts and actions." This phenomenon occurs in millions who feast on violent fare, even if they don't take that desensitization to murderous extremes.

In June 2006, the Journal of Adolescent Health reported that teens who absorbed sexually explicit entertainment the most frequently were up to 2.2 times more likely to have had sexual intercourse by ages 14 to 16 than those who had been exposed the least. As we can see from 2 example above, all of this can be found in internet using site like youtube, metacafe and others. All of this site is convenience as it is very 'Friendly-user' and all they have to do is just be a member of the site and enjoy all the privilege (am my spelling correct?).

I have experienced once,so i want to share to all of you...one day,i went to Cyber Cafe just to finish all my damn assignments...as i'm want to go to counter( am i right coz in B.M is kaunter), i'm was passed by a bunch of kids nearly age 9 -10 sit in front of a computer and doing something...so,i think they just playing games...yela, what a bunch of kids know bout internet..but,when i looked at the screen,what the f$%k..they watching porn......

So, that is the disadvantage and the dark side of entertainment in internet...sometimes,it can be harmful to our 'brain'..but i'm not say that entertainment is useless..i'm also use internet for entertainment..but we as a civilization people and Muslim should know how to use it well...
